Thank you dear St. Anthony for answering my prayers. As my daughter labored with her first baby I asked you to help them find their way to a healthy delivery. And, though she came close to a C-section, my prayer to you was answered and she safely delivered her precious son. Then again, as she struggled with nursing her baby, I asked you to help them find their way together. And, once more, you did. I tell everyone I can about your positive role in my life and I thank you fromt he bottom of my heart. Whenever I invoke your help, I always say that I know there are many more important losses than mine - one's health, children, financial resources - and yet you answer my prayer all the same. I envision you in another life, sitting with the ones I've loved and lost, working to help me through my difficulties. It is such a peaceful, joyful vision for me. Till next time....
He is one of the great saints of the Catholic Church, and one of the beloved--even far beyond Catholics themselves. Untold numbers of people turn to him, still, when there is loss. And strangely--at least strangely in the usual ways of the world--those things often quickly turn up. And often they turn up in the most unexpected--even seemingly miraculous ways. Let the stories begin.

Prayer to St. Anthony for the Health of an Expectant Mother and Her Unborn Child
In honor of the 40 Days For Life campaign that starts today, we offer this prayer:
Glorious St. Anthony, you were blessed to hold the Infant Jesus in your arms. I come to you now on behalf of (mention name) and plead for the health and safety of the child that God has graced her to conceive. St. Anthony, guard this life God has created, and the mother God has chosen for this child. Let your gentle hand, like that of a skilled physician, aid in her delivery so that this baby will know good health and lasting happiness. May her child be favored with the grace of holy baptism, and grow to love our Lord Jesus Christ above all else in this world. Amen.

Seeing Is Believing
I am very short-sighted, and cannot see without my contact lenses. I dropped a lens while cleaning them, and couldn't see to find it. I am a widow, living alone, and had no one to help. I was due to visit my daughter at university very soon, and was afraid I couldn't get a replacement lens in time. Not only that, the cost was a great worry to me. (I have no eyeglasses.) After three hours searching the bathroom inch by inch on hands and knees with a torch, and dismantling the sink drain, I prayed with all my heart to St. Anthony to help me. I went to bed, and after half an hour woke and felt oddly compelled to look again . Amazingly, the lens was right in the door of the bathroom. I had walked over it at least 20 times, and thought I had looked there already, but there it was, intact, thanks to St. Anthony.

Prayer to Saint Anthony, Disperser of Devils
Dear St. Anthony, it is still as St. Peter said: The devil prowls about, lion-like, looking for someone to devour. I confess that I don't always resist him; I sometimes toy with temptation. St. Anthony, Disperser of Devils, remind me of my duty to avoid near occasions of sin. May I always pray in temptation that I may remain loyal to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Pray for my other intentions, please. (Name them.) Amen.

St. Anthony In A Dream
I am Greek Orthodox and had a dream four weeks ago. Two nuns brought me to a green garden. One nun spoke to me the word "Padua." She pointed to a double-tiered tomb with lit candelabra on top. As the other nun pushed aside the lid, there was revealed the reposed body of a monk. While I never saw his face, I had a feeling it was St. Anthony. The next day I went to the Web sites about St. Anthony and to the link of his tomb. It was identical to the one in my dream. I have no idea what the message of the dream was, but a week later I was introduced to a nun with whom I shared my dream. She told me that perhaps this was God's way of telling me to deepen my faith. Since then, I have prayed to St. Anthony many times for lost objects and for help. He has never failed me.

Prayer to St. Anthony, Model of Perfection
Dear St. Anthony, you took the words of Jesus seriously, "Be perfect, even as your heavenly Father is perfect." The Church honors you as a Christian hero, a man wholly dedicated to God's glory and the good of the redeemed. St. Anthony, Model of Perfection, ask Jesus to strengthen my good dispositions and to make me more like you, more like Him. Obtain for me the other favors I need. (Name them.) Amen.

St. Anthony And A Cross
I was first introduced to St. Anthony over 40 years ago. I was working in Long Island City at the time, and I went out to lunch with the girls in the office. Walking back to work, I suddenly noticed my beautiful gold crucifix was missing. This crucifix had been around my neck since I was 12 years old and I had never removed it. My dad had given it to me, and I was heartbroken over losing it. I retraced my steps to the restaurant, then rechecked my steps carefully back to work. In the office I opened drawers and searched through papers, thinking I might have dropped it while I was filing. I did not miss an inch of the floors, and I was even on my hands and knees searching under the desks. I overlooked nothing including the restroom, but no luck! It was gone, and that was for sure. That night when I got home I passed my neighbor in the hall. After I told her about the crucifix, she said to me, "Pray to St. Anthony; he can find anything." So that night I prayed to St. Anthony and told him how much this cross meant to me. The next morning I prayed and I also looked again. This went on for over two weeks. I kept rechecking my office and all the blocks along the way to the restaurant, and then the restaurant itself. But by the third week, I finally told myself to forget it and I gave up. I hadn't seen my neighbor in all this time. When I saw her again, she was surprised to hear I hadn't found my cross. She asked me if I had lit a candle in church in front of St. Anthony's statue. She insisted I try this. To myself I said how ridiculous it would be to light a candle, when it was obvious I would not find my cross after so long a time. The next morning at work, this was still bothering me, so I went to a church on my lunch hour to light a candle. But now I was so upset that I found myself yelling at St. Anthony. I recall the last thing I said to him before leaving the church: "I haven't asked you to find a meaningless thing, but a symbol of Christ, and if you were real you'd make sure I got my cross back today!" I rushed back to work, still mad. I had missed my lunch hour for this! Just as I sat down at my desk, I heard the porter say, "Did anyone lose a cross?" I jumped up and yelled, "I did! I did!" He bent down, picked up the cross and said, "Here you go. You must have just dropped it." Suddenly I felt strangely calm and said to him, "You're right; it must have been dropped here today." To myself I said my thanks to St. Anthony, asked him to forgive me and told him I would never doubt him again. Of course I never have!

iPod - Lost and Found
Once I let a friend of mine borrow my iPod. It had been a few months and I still hadn't gotten it back. She looked for it everywhere and it was nowhere to be found. I told her to look one more time and to say, "Tony Tony look around, something is lost and must be found." The next morning it was lying on her mom's bed and no one had put it there. I was so amazed!

Help Comes in Pairs
My husband gave me two pairs of shoes to return to the store. When I got ready to leave, I found I had forgotten my keys, so I placed the shoes on the top of the car. After returning to the car, I simply got in and left without putting the shoes inside. When I discovered that the shoes were gone, I called upon St. Anthony to help me. My grandsons didn't believe there was any chance of finding them. We retraced all the roads I had been on, but couldn't find them. About the same time this happened, we found a cat. I placed an ad in the paper to find its owner. While checking that ad, I saw another ad which stated that two pairs of shoes had been found on my street. Yes, they were our pairs of shoes. Now my two grandsons also ask for St. Anthony's help.
