St. Anthony Quote - He Was Humbled In The Womb Of The Virgin

St. Anthony of Padua quote:

“O Father, in your Truth (that is to say, in your Son, humbled, needy and homeless) you have humbled me. He was humbled in the womb of the Virgin, needy in the manger of the sheep, and homeless on the wood of the Cross. Nothing so humbles the proud sinner as the humility of Jesus Christ’s humanity.”

Always A Reason For Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is the day in which families and communities gather together to thank the Lord for the gifts they have received all year long. Sometimes, when overtaken by discouragement, it may seem that we have nothing to be grateful for, but in reality there is always a reason to give thanks. This is why, now more than ever, you are invited to give thanks to the Lord and to St. Anthony for the blessings you have received. Click here to write a special thank you note and the Friars of St. Anthony will lay it on the Tomb of our beloved Saint in his Basilica in Padua, Italy, and pray for you and your intentions. If you would also like a Prayer of Thanksgiving to Saint Anthony, please click here.

Somehow He Found It

I am here again to do a testimony for St. Anthony's help. Recently, my colleague told me she found that one important stock she was in charge of in her company was short in quantity. She was very worried because it would cause her a lot of problems if she reported it to the higher authority. She said she has checked all the units she supplied to in case there was a miscalculation when issuing the stock, however, all her efforts were in vain. She had been having sleepless nights thinking about it. I started praying to St. Anthony to help find the missing stock. However, deep in my heart I had my doubts because my colleague was very sure she has checked everywhere remotely possible where the stock could be. Nonetheless, I kept on praying. About one week later, I was so surprised to receive her message on my phone, saying that the stock issue had been resolved. I could hardly believe it. I asked her how it happened. She said one of the units she issued to found the extra amount in their stock. The strange thing was that she was sure she had personally gone to check the unit's stock and found no extra there a week ago. I truly believe that it was my prayer to St. Anthony. Somehow, he found it and put it back at a place it could be found. My colleague is a non-Christian - I hope one day she will find faith in the Catholic Church. Blessed be God in His Angels and in His Saints. Blessed be the Great St. Anthony.

Thank you once again M.H. for another wonderful story of the power of prayer and Saint Anthony’s help. Have a story of your own that you would like to share? Email it to us and we will post it on the blog~

I Gave Saint Anthony A Second Try

Sometimes, St. Anthony takes a while to work but I believe he will work if the things are still around. More than half a year ago, I found that my spare remote control keys to my car was missing. I did pray to St. Anthony for a while but did not persist. I was in a hurry to make a new spare because I did not feel safe just having one set of keys. So, when I did not find it, I immediately went to get it duplicated in the next day or two. It was expensive but I feel safer having a spare key. After that, I stopped praying. Recently, after I read from your blog about so many people finding their expensive car keys after praying and also my friend's personal account of a similar event, I found myself questioning St. Anthony why he did not help me with mine. Nonetheless, I decided to pray to him again and asked that if the key is still in the house, to please help me find it. I do not mind having an extra set. A few days later, I thought of using a handbag that I have not used for a long time. As I took it out to clean the bag, what a surprise I had seeing the set of lost car key, right there in the bag. I do believe that it was because I gave St. Anthony a second try. I didn't give him enough time to do his job that first round as I was not confident enough in his help. I should have prayed more fervently and given him more time. Thanks again, St. Anthony for the help. I am still happy to have that lost key back even though I have duplicated a set.

Thank you M.H. for another great witness to the power of St. Anthony’s assistance. Have a story of your own to share? Email us and we will post it on the blog~

St. Anthony Is Really My Go-To Saint

I am from Malaysia and I have many St. Anthony stories but I will just write the most recent ones. One day, my good friend put in our friends' group whatsapp that she was distraught because she just found out that she has lost her identity card. She said she could not remember where she could have put it. So, I privately messaged her to suggest praying to St. Anthony. I said it always worked for me. She is a Catholic, converted through marriage so intercessory prayers are not familiar to her. Nonetheless, she said no harm trying. So, I sent her the prayer. The next morning, I asked if she found it but she said no. However, at around noon, I suddenly received a voice message in our whatsapp group. In it, she said," I found my identity card, thanks to St. Anthony and praise the Lord." Apparently, she was on the way to the police station to make the report of lost card and was chatting with her aunty in the car. As she was talking about the last time she used the card when she was traveling, an image of her wearing a jacket came back to her. Then it occurred to her that it could be in her jacket pocket. So, she turned back home to check the jacket, and lo and behold, in the pocket was the lost identity card. After this, this friend of mine really believed in the intercession of St. Anthony. Not long ago, she told me that her customer related to her how he lost one set of his keys to his new car. He was distraught as he is left with one set only. He claimed he had searched everywhere. My friend suggested to him that probably he can pray the St. Anthony prayer, not even knowing if he was a Christian, much less a Catholic. He seemed to believe half-heartedly and went home. One week later, he called her and told her he has found his keys and proclaimed that the prayer had been really effective. It was found between his sofa legs where his wife had vacuumed before but never saw the keys. Praise the Lord.

Another story which is my own daughter's story. One day, my 10 year old daughter forgot to remove her watch and bangle when she went to martial arts lesson, so her senior asked her to remove them. She did so and kept them on the floor, at the corner of the room. After the lesson, she could not find it. She claimed she searched everywhere on the floor but in vain. When she came to the car, she was crying her heart out but she didn't want me to ask the coach for fear he would scold her. She said they have surely been stolen. I prayed a St. Anthony prayer and asked that even if it has been taken, it will be returned. Then without telling her, I messaged the coach to keep an eye out. He was very obliging and said he would. Actually, I wasn't thinking it could be found because my daughter was sure she searched thoroughly and was certain someone had taken it away. Anyway, I checked my phone every few minutes to see if the coach had any updates- none. However, after dinner, I checked my phone again and was so surprised this time I had a message from the coach and it was a picture of the lost items. He said it was just there on the floor. I cannot express my relief and thanks to St. Anthony. Even though these were inexpensive items, the bangle has sentimental value because it was my bangle when I was a young girl.

St. Anthony is really my go-to saint, my speed dial. I believe he not only helps in finding lost things but is the patron saint of almost everything. These are just a few of many St. Anthony stories. I shall come back with more.

Thank you so much M.H. for your wonderful stories of our good St. Anthony’s assistance in your life and the lives of others, we look forward to reading future stories that you send in. Have a story of your own to share? Email it to us and we will post it on the blog too~

He Helps All Believers

Thanks to praying to St. Anthony I found a lost diamond earring my husband gave me 23 years ago when my daddy died.  It was at Christmas and was very special. I am Presbyterian but could be Catholic. I pray. I have several Catholic friends and sometimes go to Mass.  So my point is, he helps all believers.

Thank you B.B. for sharing how Saint Anthony interceded for you to find your precious earring. Blessings to you and all as you find your way to the Catholic Church, with the help of Good St. Anthony~
