Find The Openings In The Day

This from a good Traditional priest, for those that still don’t get to attend Mass in person because of COVID19 restrictions, and so assist as best as possible via internet Mass:
“May your Sunday be holy. Find the openings in the day, the cracks through which holiness can enter, even if only for a few moments. Draw on the Mass you watch, and let it be your guide. Love your clan. And give thanks.”
Good Saint Anthony, pray for us and for the whole world~

St. Anthony Sermon - On The Justice Of Hypocrites

Presented below is an excerpts of St. Anthony’s "Sermon on the justice of hypocrites and of true penitents", commonly included in the sermons for the Sixth Sunday after Pentecost. St. Anthony warns negligent superiors and prelates of the dire personal consequences of their omissions.

“If the ox was wont to push with his horn yesterday and the day before, and they warned his master, and he did not shut him up, and he shall kill a man or a woman: then the ox shall be stoned, and his owner also shall be put to death. [Exodus xxi, 29] The ox that pushes with his horn is the carnal appetite, which with the horn of pride kills a man or a woman: that is to say, his reason or his good will. Because his owner, the spirit, does not shut him up, he is killed along with the ox: body and soul will be eternally punished together. Hear this, you abbots and priors! If you have an ox that pushes with his horn, a monk or canon who is proud, a lover of wine and pleasure, and you will not shut him up, so that men and women are not scandalized by his bad example: the ox shall be stoned to death, and die in his sin, and the abbot or prior who would not restrain him will be punished eternally.”

St. Anthony Of Padua Quote: "If You Preach Jesus”

Saint Anthony of Padua quote:
"If you preach Jesus, He softens hard hearts; if you invoke him, you sweeten bitter temptations; if you think of him, he enlightens your heart; if he you read, it quenches your mind. "

Savior Seeking To Save The Lost

When you give presents to the people you love, remember that the giving of gifts is not a human invention. God started it all when he gave us the priceless gift of His Son in order to save humanity.
Jesus did not come to earth as an explorer or a tourist, nor as an educator or an itinerant preacher. Jesus came as a Savior seeking to save the lost, those who were estranged from God. And we are all lost without God – lost without hope, lost without a future.
It is therefore fitting that we celebrate and rejoice during the Christmas Season because God’s gift means that death no longer has any real power over us, and that our lives have been redeemed.

Saint Anthony of Padua, Patron Saint of the lost, pray for us~

Come To Him In Devotion

I am here to thank St. Anthony for what he did for me in the past.
Towards the end of 2014 I bought a laptop, but it was stolen within 3 months. Though I had someone I suspected, he never agreed that he stole the laptop, especially as there was no proof. I was awfully sad. I was not financially stable enough to get another one yet. The same day, I prayed to St. Anthony starting from midnight until day break, at one hour intervals. You wouldn’t believe that in the morning, the thief confessed to stealing the laptop and returned it to me. I couldn’t even believe my eyes. Miracles truly happen I thought to myself, and I was so grateful. I forgave the thief and thanked St. Anthony. I also tried to spread the story so that others can come to him in devotion. I’m sending this mail using the same laptop.
Thank you St. Anthony of Padua.

Thank you J.S. for your story of trust and perseverance in prayer. Have a St. Anthony story of your own to share, one that can inspire others to come to devotion in St. Anthony also? Email it to us and we will post it on our blog~

Fatima - 100 Years Later

Though this is not directly connected with St. Anthony, it is important to post about. Today is the 100 year anniversary of the Miracle of the Sun at Fatima, Portugal. Click here to learn more about this Vatican approved apparition of Our Lady and the associated prophecies.

He Is Always Listening

Yesterday, St. Anthony helped me find my lost passport and I promised myself that I would find a website where I could testify to how often St. Anthony has helped me find lost objects. How strange to find another recent story of a lost passport!
I had literally turned my office upside down looking for my mislaid passport, even to the point of having my son move heavy furniture away from the wall. I was frustrated and embarrassed because I rarely forget where I put things. Then I remembered St. Anthony and I sincerely prayed for help. A few minutes later, I looked in the same area I had searched before and with a sense of awe, saw my passport.
I have lots of examples of this. I misplaced my glasses in our “attic” storeroom year ago, and you can imagine how hard it is to find something lost in a room like that. I prayed to St. Anthony and went to the storeroom and immediately “knew” that my glasses had fallen out of sight behind a bookcase. I even have terribly trivial examples. My dog had lost his favorite ball. It’s silly but you’d think a dog could find it by scent. I prayed to St. Anthony and felt as if someone was moving my eyeballs to exactly the spot where the ball was hiding.
I know that God answers prayers, but sometimes I feel silly asking God for little things. And why this prayer in particular seems to work so infallibly and quickly is hard for me to understand. But I cannot deny that my little prayers to the Saint have been answered. And it has helped my faith in God, to know that He is always listening.
I believe our prayers to St. Anthony are blessed because God is the God of sparrows and tiny things and those kinds of prayers are truly humble prayers.

Thank you J.B. for your faith filled stories and insights. Have an insight or story to share about St. Anthony's help in your life? Email it to us and we will share it on the blog~

St. Anthony Brought My Wedding Rings Back

Giving thanks to St. Anthony for his intercession on a divine level to assist me in getting my wedding rings back. I had hidden my wedding rings in my home about 4 months ago after a rash of house breaking ins and robberies in our area.  I was working in another community so felt that I may lose my rings, I hid them at my house in a place that I was confident that anyone breaking into my home would not look. However, I changed my mind so often about hiding places so many times (thinking they still would be in a obvious place to a thief) that my hiding place became so obscure that I could not remember where they were when I returned some weeks later. Yesterday, I remembered that my mother always prayed to St. Anthony when she lost something and it always turned up. Mom always lost her car keys, so as children we would have to join her on bended knees to pray to St. Anthony for their return. I thought for so many of my young years that St. Anthony was “the keeper of the keys” lol. I said my prayer to St. Anthony yesterday morning and afterwards a series of events took place that lead my husband to clean out an old plastic bin in my son’s closet. We started throwing away items that were in that bin so we could use it for storing items I had just bought to make soap. My husband opened a long thin box to ensure there was nothing worth saving in it before he tossed it into the garbage. His eyes were so wide as his took my wedding rings out of the box. My rings showed up in a box that held my son’s baptismal candle. My son is now 27 years old, living in another province for the past 7 years. I cannot remember putting my rings in that box. I looked up some information on St. Anthony to connect with him spiritually, I needed to know about him. My heartbeat intensified when I saw that his feast day is June 13th., for that is my husband’s birthday. My husband is the most gentle, kind and humble person I have ever met. God brought my husband into my life to heal my heart and St. Anthony brought my wedding rings back through him to remind me how sacred our union is. I had lost sight of that. I lost my rings during a critical time in our marriage. Thank you St. Anthony!
Thank you L.M. for your beautiful story of prayer and the finding of things lost. If you have a story you would like to share on our blog, please email it to us to post~

9/11 Meditation At Commemorative Monument in Padua, Italy

On September 11, 2001, the terrorist attacks launched against the United States and the free world was unprecedented in terms of savagery and brutality. Every year on this date, there is a commemoration of the lives of those who died so tragically: people who were simply working in the World Trade Center, or who perished in the attempt to save them. In Padua, the city of St. Anthony, they are very proud to possess a monument dedicated to the tragedy of 9/11 called Memory and Light. It is a symbolic representation of a twofold necessity: first, to be mindful of the evils of fanaticism and hatred, secondly, to never lose faith in the values of solidarity, peace, justice and equality, just like St. Anthony taught all those centuries ago.

St. Anthony Novena – Day 13, World’s Greatest Saint

A blessed Feast of Saint Anthony to all of you~~ Welcome back for our last meditation, today’s theme is St. Anthony, the world’s greatest saint. We are in the Basilica, at the back of the Saint’s Tomb: thousands of people every day touch this stone as they say their prayers to St. Anthony. Almost four million people come every year to Padua to visit his tomb.

St. Anthony Novena – Day 12, Intercessor before God

Today the theme is Saint Anthony, Intercessor before God. Fr. Mario is in the Chapel of St. Anthony’s relics, where we can find the reliquary with St. Anthony’s tongue; the tongue through which he constantly prayed, interceding for individuals, the Church and the world.

St. Anthony Novena – Day 10, Life Counselor

Today’s theme is Saint Anthony, life counselor. According to St. Anthony’s biographers, though he was a very learned person, he was so good at preaching that even children could understand him. He was the perfect counselor. Guided by the Holy Spirit, his advice was always insightful, Scripture based, unique and practical.

St. Anthony Novena – Day 9, Comforter Of The Afflicted

Today’s theme is Saint Anthony, comforter of the afflicted. St. Anthony recognizes that life is a rough journey full of difficulties, but he knows that no human being makes this journey alone: the Holy Spirit is with each one of us.
